“Lady Buds” Sneak Preview at OUTFEST

July 21, 2021 — OUTFEST: the Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival announced as part of its upcoming slate of films will include an exclusive Sneak Preview of CJ Russo’s new documentary Lady Buds. Russo, an OUTFEST alum who’s screened six shorts at the festival since 1995 (“That’s Amore,” “Virgin of the Sea,” “Straight Down the Aisle: Confessions of Lesbian Bridesmaids,” “Size ‘em Up,” “A Woman Reported,” and “25 Random Things I Did During My Big Fat Lesbian Depression”) returns for a special Sneak Preview of “Lady Buds” for her hometown audience.

“As a queer filmmaker, it’s important for me to share my work with the community that is near and dear to my heart,” says Russo. “LGBTQ film festivals are, and have always been, a vital space to watch films that reflect the truth of our lives, and a sacred space for queer fellowship and self-expression. I am truly honored to be recognized by OUTFEST once again, and welcomed back with my first feature film.”
